The Vancouver Island Surface Design Association juried show “eco-threads” will be up from June 28 to July 9, 2017 at
the Coast Collective Gallery in Colwood, BC. I have two pieces in the show – Sea Change, made from plastic, paper, and other fibres is
a reaction to knowing about all the plastic floating around in the world oceans. Pender Variations is a wall piece made from reclaimed and
repurposed silk and silk samples eco-dyed one winter when we lived on Pender Island, using plants and shrubs that grew on our property.
Bedwell Variations reclaimed silk, eco-dyed silk, hand and machine stitched. 40″ x 40″
I will also be participating in the eco-threads fashion show to be held on July 7 th from 7 to 9 pm at the gallery. I have entered 3 pieces made
from up cycled scarves and shawls that I find in thrift shops.
